From the age of twelve until I was nineteen, I worked and learned from my own hairstylist. I knew then that I LOVED being in the salon.
After getting my degree in Fine Arts at the University of Guelph, I moved back to my hometown of Barrie to start my new career in hair styling. The artistic skills I learned from my time at Guelph applied to my styling career make me a key and unique hair artist.
I enjoy continually attending hair shows to further educate myself and to bring new and exciting ideas back to my clients.
I was born and raised in Barrie, Ontario and have always had an interest in hair, beauty and fashion. I knew I wanted to pursue hair styling when I walked into the cosmetology room at Barrie North Collegiate at the start of high school. To be in the environment I started by taking the co-op program where I was placed at True Colors Unisex Salon and at the age of 16 was signed onto the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship program. I attended Georgian College for my post-secondary schooling, taking the basic and advance training in hair styling. In 2007 I received my hair styling license. I have been working at True Colors Unisex Salon for 13 years.
When I help someone feel good about themselves it makes me feel great!
